Run backup in Windows 95
1) Open Backup:
a) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
b) Select 'Programs' and select 'Accessories'.
c) Select 'System Tools' and select 'Backup'.
2) Click 'OK'. (The 'Untitled - Microsoft Backup' dialog box appears.)
NOTE: The 'Microsoft Backup' dialog box may appear if it does, click 'OK'.
3) Do one of the following:
a) To back up a drive, select the check box of the drive to be backed up from the 'Select files to back up' list box.
b) To back up only a directory:
1] Double-click the drive's icon.
NOTE: DO NOT select the check box next to the drive. The directories and files contained in the drive appear in the right-hand window.
2] Select the check box next to the folder to be backed up in the 'Select files to back up' list box.
c) To back up only portions of a directory:
1] Double-click the drive's icon.
NOTE: DO NOT select the check box next to the drive. The directories and files contained in the drive appear in the right-hand window.
2] Select the directory to display the files and folders in the directory in the 'Select files to back up' list box.
3] Select the check box next to the files and folders to be backed up.
NOTE: The files contained in the folder are automatically selected.
4) Select the 'Settings' menu and select 'Options...'. (The 'Settings Options' dialog box appears.)
5) Click the 'Backup' tab.
6) Select the 'Full: backup of all selected files' radio button in the 'Type of backup' group.
7) Click 'OK'.
8) Click 'Next Step'.
9) Select the destination for the backup from the 'Select a destination for the backup' list box.
10) Click 'Start Backup'. (The 'Backup Set Label' dialog box appears.)
11) Type a name for the backup set in the 'Backup set' box.
12) Click 'OK'. (The 'Backup operation status' box appears.)
NOTE: Later, after files have been modified or added, do a differential backup of only the modified or added files, since the last backup will be added to the backup set.
13) To do an incremental backup:
a) Repeat steps 1) through 4).
b) Select the 'Incremental: backup of selected files that have changed since the last full backup' check box.
c) Click 'OK'.
d) Click 'Next Step'. (The 'Backup Set Label' dialog box appears.)
e) Select the destination for the backup from the 'Select a destination for the backup' list box.
f) Click 'Start Backup'. (The 'Backup Set Label' dialog box appears.)
g) Type a name for the backup set in the 'Backup set' box and click 'OK'. (The 'Backup operation status' box appears.)
